COMPANY HISTORY

Supported by his large family, Giuseppe Ballatore brought to life a company unique in its field, both constructing and using machinery.

HISTORY

The company was founded in 1964 by Cavaliere Giuseppe Ballatore and his wife Domenica Signorile, who dedicated most of their life to the business. The company began with the opening of a furnace which produced bricks. At the same time, in order to improve the production levels of his factory, Ballatore set up a company which sold and repaired machines for clay processing.
Supported by his large family, Giuseppe Ballatore brought to life a company unique in its field, both constructing and using machinery. This was a decision which allows them to test new machinery in their own factory and get to know perfectly the needs of the world of construction.
A serious approach, quality and solidity are the principles by which Giuseppe Ballatore and his family have always run their business. Today the family spans three generations, who help to keep the company young but strong due to its lengthy experience.
In 1980, the Vinovo Company moved to a new headquarters in Villanova d’Asti, in Northern Italy, in the centre of Piedmont, in the Asti province.
The company is now growing over more than 100,000 square metres, which began as just 6,500 square metres under cover.
In 2007 the covered surface area was doubled, to allow more space for the company’s activity in the construction plant sector.
At the new headquarters, two sections are developing.
In the Brick Division, traditional production is accompanied by new technologies which allow Fornace Ballatore to offer their clients the highest quality produce which is exported worldwide. The brick Division employs 25 employees.
The construction plant section employs 20 in-house staff members, and works with numerous external companies.

Production processes

The production of bricks is based on a number of operations which, although highly industrialised and automated, have – as a principle – remained identical for millennia.
